How our journey began

HISTORY OF SISTERS IN STRENGTH

Sisters in Strength was founded in 2018 by Kerryn Taylor and Mariko Whyte who dreamed of providing an event that created a fun and high energy environment for women to learn the sport of Strongwoman.
Mariko and Kerryn always talked about wanting to create a space for women to enjoy and celebrate themselves as well as discover new strengths and do something they had never done before.

They are both also very passionate about breaking down the stigmas around mental health and include this aspect in the Workshop with a Mental Health discussion.
Sisters in Strength was originally started as a not-for-profit organisation and have run two extremely successful events so far as seen in the Documentary Series

"Strong Women" out on ABC iView.

Sisters in Strength endeavours to focus on challenging the status quo of female stereotypes. We teach women what it is to be strong mentally and physically.
Sisters in Strength was developed to create a space for women of ALL ages and abilities to come together and have the opportunity to learn from each other in a non-judgmental environment. We share our struggles and triumphs in a hope of creating a feeling of connection and empowerment for all women who attend the workshops.

THE BIG PLAN

Our big plan is to grow the Sisters in Strength Workshops so we can reach and empower more women on their health and fitness journeys.
We would love to be able to sponsor a local sports woman or up and coming Strongwoman Athlete or Personal Trainer.

Our biggest goal for Sisters in Strength is to have a Workshop in a Stadium and have a women in every seat!
